With all of the current GM bankruptcy news that has hit the streets lately, GM dealers have been on the edge of their seats lately as to whether or not they would be getting the pink slip from GM.

Yesterday, Maxie Price Chevrolet received their letter from GM, and GM has chosen to keep Maxie Price Chevrolet open for business!

Maxie Price Chevrolet will continue to carry and sell GM vehicles as GM goes through their reinvention process.

Vehicles for sale include: Corvettes for sale, diesel trucks for sale, used cars for sale and 2010 Camaros for sale.

Loganville Creekside Cinemas 12 Launch Delayed

In a press release issued in April 2008, it was announced that Spotlight Theatres would be opening a new 12-screen movie theater in Loganville, GA. The new Creekside Cinemas 12 is scheduled to be a part of the Creekside Landing currently located on HWY 78. This complex currently includes the Oasis Bowling Alley and Creekside Sports Complex as part of its entertainment development. At the time of the press release, the theater was expected to open in Summer of 2009. However, due to current economic trends, the scheduled opening has been delayed until the Summer of 2010.

 According to the original press release:

“The new 12-screen theatre will feature high back seats that rock with wide spacing between rows for extra legroom and 18-inch stadium risers for unobstructed viewing. All auditoriums will have the latest digital audio and digital projection equipment producing the best quality sight and sound for an enhanced movie-going experience. Patrons of Spotlight Theatres will enjoy amenities like on-line ticketing, will-call, expanded concession menu, guaranteed seating and the Spotlight Rewards program (www.SpotlightRewards.com) where customers earn free movie tickets and free concession items.”

Dick’s Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Dollar Tree, OfficeMax, and PetSmart to open soon!

North Logan Commons will soon have it’s final anchor retailers open for business. Following the already open Lowes Home Improvement store, the remaining 5 anchor stores will be open before mid-March. The projected timeline is as follows:

Dollar Tree - Scheduled to open their Loganville store on Tuesday, 2/24 or Wednesday 2/25

Best Buy - Scheduled to re-open at their Loganville location on Friday, 2/27

PetSmart - Scheduled to have a “soft opening” on Monday, 3/2 followed by their grand opening on Saturday, 3/7

OfficeMax - Projected to have a “soft opening” on Thursday, 3/5 followed by their grand opening on Saturday, 3/7

No exact date has been given to us yet on the exact date for Dick’s Sporting Goods to open, however, they will most likely be open within the first or second week in March.

Contestants should arrive no later than a half hour before the pageant start time indicated above for their age group. Age groups may be combined at director’s discretion.

Pageant Info

Contestants should wear any formal dress or pageant gown. Each age group will have a winner and runners ups. All contestants will receive a participation sash and will have their picture in the pageant program book. A professional photographer will be available for portraits.

Winners will receive:
beautiful rhinestone tiara, custom sash with title, trophy with title and/or gift certificate, picture in the local newspapers & on official Miss North Georgia Jr. Teen website, and opportunities to participate in parades and community events with Miss North Georgia Jr. Teen!

This is a benefit pageant to support Miss North Georgia Jr. Teen as she travels to Orlando to represent the state of Georgia at the International Junior Miss Scholarship Pageant. The panel of judges will consist of current or former title holders throughout the state of Georgia. Contestants can live anywhere in Georgia to participate.

The “Big Box” retailer, Best Buy will be opening sooner than originally planned. Loganville’s Best Buy location, as mentioned earlier, is a transplanted store that is moving from it’s current location in Stone Mountain at the intersection of East Park Place and HWY 78. The current Best Buy #506 will be closing it’s doors to the public as of Monday, February 23rd and re-opening in Loganville on Friday, February 27th, 2009. This will be the second tenant to open within the new North Logan Commons shopping center. With it’s prime placement directly on HWY 78, the store should see much better performance as it draws in customer’s from Loganville, Walnut Grove, Winder, Bethlehem, Monroe, and other surrounding areas.

If you are interested in attending the Grand Opening Ceremony, it will begin at 10:00am Friday Morning on-site.

Loganville Christmas Parade - Saturday Dec. 6th

Downtown Loganville Holiday Decorations 2008

It’s no secret that Christmas decorations and lights are already into full swing around town. The city of Loganville began decorating as early as October 31st and first turned on its christmas lights the day before Thanksgiving. However, this Saturday will be the city’s official kick-off to the Holiday Season.

 

The Loganville Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Loganville Chamber of Commerce, will take place on Saturday, December 6th, 2008. The parade will begin at 3:30pm as the parade makes its way from the Bay Creek Elementary School on Homer Mill Rd off Hwy 81 to its ending point on Main Street in Downtown Loganville. As a time-honored tradition, this is an event that your family will enjoy. Once the parade has concluded, there will be a tree lighting at City Hall.
